[amazondvd]The Party's Over[/amazondvd] has been released by BFI in a totally uncut edition never released before.



I watched it this evening and the black and white photography looks stunning in hi-defintion, here and there the print goes a bit ropey but I'm pretty sure that's where some reel changes would have been and where the re-inserted footage is.
There are some great shots over the Thames riverside that look absolutely fantastic.

It seems quite tame now but back in the early 60's the film fell foul of the BBFC and finally got released in 1965 in a severly truncated print.

I forgot to mention that on occassions the John Barry score sounds uncannily like some James Bond music, I wonder if any of his other scores are so similar.

I even played it to Paul over the phone and asked him what he thought before telling him where it was from and he said James Bond too.
