I watched it this evening and quite enjoyed it, it gets pretty twisted as the story unfolds.

A good performance from Banderas.

I've owned the Blu-ray for almost a year but only got to see it a couple of nights ago.

What can I say? "Wow" - would be a great start - this film is fucking great! The majority of people on here that haven't seen it should definitely give it a go. Easily top three best films of '11. Writing, direction, music, cinematography and acting are all top notch. Very much like a Euro film of the seventies and quite a departure from the other Almodovar films I've seen.

Have you seen this, Jonny? If you've not make sure you do, you're going to love it, I'm sure.

I can only agree. This is a great film. Set any pre-conceptions about Almodovar and the kind of films you think he makes aside... this one is very different from what you might expect (and the less you know about the plot, the better...).

i disagree that it is a "great" film, while i dont deny that it is technically well made the first half of it is kinda interesting ...this starts more and more to crumble in the second half with the revealing mystery of the "prisoner" which gets into a "grotesque" direction (and i dont mean this exactly in a positive sense)..but the best thing at all is---SPOILER---: that because of a simple "promise"(!) from the prisoner´s side ..banderas doesnt expect any foulplay behind his back and pays that with his life..naive  i guess is an understatement
