The DVD Drive-In review covers the more "subtle" differences between the two versions.

Cool stuff but why didn't you review it with a Raro italy director's cut dvd/ usa director's cut dvd comparison? We all know differences between cut and director's cut i think!

I don't have the Italian set, but the differences between the two cuts are interesting (not just the removal of the ending and the reshuffling of some scenes).

I would wager that they are from the same masters.

The value of comparing caps from the director's cut and theatrical cut is to show how the uncut version of the film would have looked had the original negative not been cut.  The Raro USA drops the Italian track from the theatrical version (too bad as I was curious as to whether the music tracks selected for the English version also appear on the Italian track of the theatrical version or if they are exclusive to the English version - the tracks were selected from the CAM library by Carlo Maria Cordio's wife Donatella Ibba).
