All The Right Noises (Gerry O'Hara, 1969)

Yet another one of them old 60's / 70's British films that you enjoy but can't explain why. 32 year old married with two kids Len (Tom Bell) is having an affair with Val (Olivia Hussey) whilst working on a stage musical. After a while he is shocked to find out that she has yet to turn 16 when she turns up in her school uniform, he makes a half arsed attempt at putting it to a stop but doesn't. He brings Val back to his flat when his wife is away abroad filming but little does he know that she is going to return early...

I watched the BFI disc which looks pretty good, there are some decent extras on the disc too. There is an interview with Hussey aged 15 and she is sitting there smoking! There is also a half hour short called The Spys Wife also directed by O'Hara (alway think of Bob Wall when I see that name  :-\) starring Dorothy Tutin and Tom Bell. It has a really good score which I presumed were library tracks whilst watching it but looking through the booklet it says it was by Dennis King actually for it.

Nice to see Rudolph Walker and Yootha Joyce in a small roles too.
