Just won an NTSC tape on eBay – worked out at just over £14, delivered from Canada. I'm really looking forward to seeing this.

Rampling looks hot on this cover! Wasn't she in a Nazi type movie with Max Von Sydow or somebody? THE NIGHT PORTER? NIGHT VISITOR? Something like that from the early 70s. I had a trailer for it somewhere.

A lot of those old NTSC tapes are shoddy. My DEADLY STRANGERS is well ropey.
A lot of American tapes of genre titles are dire,my copy of BLACK LEMONS straight from the Unicorn tape is atrocious as well as being p&s.Thank God for PAL  ::)

Yes she was - I saw her on the tube about a year ago - she certainly doesn't look like that anymore!

Thanks. I really want to buy some stuff from them but since I'm not quite sure about the quality of their transfers and so on... I think I'll wait for some other feedback.

As far as I know none of their releases are bootlegs, in fact they are one of the oldest labels in the German genre market. They changed owners a few times if I'm not mistaken, but as of now the label is run by its founder again (who is also notorious for directing god-awful dtv trash). Their old dvd releases were hit and miss (I'd personally rather say it's the latter), often thrown together with little care and sometimes plagued with sheer technical incompetence.

Since their move to bd it's got a lot better. I guess they now just use the available international hd masters, leaving less room for failure.  ;D I don't have many of their bds but those few that I got are good or certainly not below average qualitywise. Still, whenever I hear they release a new title my inner voice cries: Too bad it's not a CO, Filmart or Subkultur release. I hope my ramblings don't come over as too cynical, because as of late I am sure their output is on par with what one can expect from a capable label.

I've got a few of their Blu's and they all seem nice enough to me, like you say, a far cry from wondering if they will be any good unlike the when you never knew if they'd be any good or not.

As for your inner voice cries, I have then but it's "I hope they have English language or subtitles" as disappointingly quite a few aren't English friendly.

I hear you! I wonder if at some point there will be English language tracks again accompanied by those weird forced subtitles "Only for sale in Germany, Austria and Switzerland" like some of their dvds had.
