Man Who Cried For Revenge (Mario Caiano, 1969)

Davy Flanagan(Anthony Steffen) emerges from the Civil War dressed in rags and with no memory of his past or even his name, but is soon enlightened by seeing his image on a $10,000 wanted poster.Flanagan is wanted for desertion from the Union army and everywhere he goes he's either ostracised or has bounty killers on his trail. In Dixon town he learns from Sam Kelogg(William Berger) that his amnesia was caused during an attempted breakout from a POW camp in which the Confederate Commandant shot Flanagan in the base of the skull before stealing his uniform, identity and also his wife.

But typically for a Berger character(and he does this better than most) we are unsure of his motives and that he is not to be 100% trusted. However Flanagan sees no choice but to compell the seemingly reluctant Kelogg into helping him pursue  the imposter and clear his name.

An enjoyably above average sw and likewise with NO ROOM TO DIE Steffen works well alongside Berger.Often unjustly criticised for being wooden,Steffen is excellent here portraying the ex-bounty killer without a memory though he still retains the gun prowess, and the last half hour is particularly of note as the heavily outnumbered Flanagan literally blows the town apart as he takes out his enemies one by one.

My rating 7 out of 10.

Yeah, it's a decent effort by Caiano and I thought the action / gunfight scenes were staged well.
