Dundead Halloween Horror Special 2012 - Dundee, Scotland

It’s Halloween, so prepare to be terrified by our bumper Dundead offering: we’ve got four fantastic films to get you in the ghoulish mood. Follow us on Twitter: @Dundead. Normal ticket prices apply, or see all four films for £15.

Surprise Movie - 26 October 2012
We have a Dundead first for this year's Halloween programme – a surprise movie! Yes, the opening film of our weekend of horrors will be kept a secret until the screening begins. All we can reveal at this stage is that it will be a special preview of a film that is yet to be released theatrically in Scotland, England and Wales.

Chained - 27 October 2012
Eight year-old Tim and his mother Sarah (Julia Ormond) disappear without a trace when their taxi home from the cinema takes an unexpected route. Soon, Tim finds himself a captive servant to Bob (Vincent D'Onofrio), a serial killer. Writer-director Jennifer Lynch has created an intense psychological drama with a powerhouse performance from D’Onofrio. The screening will be preceded by the 26-minute Yellow, directed by Ryan Haysom.

Excision - 28 October 2012
“Heathers meets David Cronenberg” is a good way to summarise just how barmy Excision is. The film focuses on troubled teenager Pauline (AnnaLynne McCord). She wishes that reconnecting with her mother was as easy as picking scabs, or that fixing her sister's lung disorder was as simple as dissecting road kill. With a cast featuring Traci Lords, Malcolm McDowell and John Waters, Excision is a wildly violent and wickedly funny ride.

Poltergeist: 30th Anniversary Screening - 31 October 2012
Life is pleasant for a Californian family until otherworldly forces invade their suburban home. It begins with an incident here and there, but soon they are subjected to a swirling supernatural sideshow. Can the luckless family get out before they are swept into nightmarish chaos? When Poltergeist was originally released in 1982, The New York Times called it “marvellously spooky... beautiful and vividly gruesome”.
