La polizia brancola nel buio (Helia Colombo, 1972)

Strange giallo/crime directed by an italian musical producer (Pasquale Elio Palumbo) under the name of Helia Colombo. It seems that it was released in italian theaters only in 1975.
Most of the cast is totally unknown to me, and very very likely under akas... who is Daiana Murpy? And Robert Trewords?  :-*

Anyway, some people used to believe that Joseph Arkin (first credit in the movie) was actually turkish actor Cuneyt Arkin, ma I can't see anybody in the movie with a resemblance with this actor, so it's probably a mistake from Imdb.

As you know, there was an italian super-8 of this one.

After watching this film last night, I'm almost positive that one of the lead characters, Giorgio D'Amato, listed on IMDb as being played by Joseph Arkim (who btw I have no idea who is!) is actually played by CSC actor Giorgio Dolfin.
Haha, Giorgio Dolfin! I must have been stoned when I posted that.  :-*
Anyway, this is definitely one of the strangest gialli out there. I´d love to find out more about the film and actors involved, such as the lovely Mrs Murpy! ::)

I'm sorry, I didn't notice there was already a topic about this movie...  :(

Anyway it's not Cuneyt Arkin, it's not Giorgio Dolfin... so who the **** is this guy??  :-\

Haha! This film has the worst English pseudonyms ever!  ::)

I too wonder who the leading man could be. The top-billed pseudonym "Joseph Arkim" may not refer to him, though. It could just as well be one of the other actors as the cast seems to be listed in alphabethical order...

Do any Italian Lovelockandload members know if "La polizia brancola nel buio" was a popular phrase during the seventies to criticize the police force?  Besides the title of this film, I heard it used in YOUNG, VIOLENT, DANGEROUS by one of the cops quoting a headline (not by Benjamin Lev's movie title quoting character), and I just heard it spoken in PLOT OF FEAR.

It's a fairly common phrase - it translates as "The police are blundering in the dark" - Which basically means they're investigating but they haven't got a clue (much like the director of this film!)

Thanks.  I figured it was unlikely that this little seen Italian/Turkish production had that much of an impact.

This film is actually all-Italian and not a Turkish co-production.  The confusion stems from one of the actors being credited as "Joseph Arkim", which made some people assume he was Turkish actor Cüneyt Arkin a.k.a. George Arkin and that the film had to be a Turkish co-production. IMDb still lists it as such but they have at least removed Cüneyt Arkin from the cast list.
