Christopher Connelly, Ivan Rassimov, George Hilton and Mike Monty fight for the destiny of mankind in Ruggero Deodato's highly enjoyable genre hotchpotch that will leave even the most jaded post-nuke film lover speechless. Does it make any sense? No, not at all, but boy-oh-boy is it ever entertaining! The story and dialogue are absolutely madcap, the action hardly ever lets up and incorporates lots of practical, miniature as well as those inimitable 80s optical laser effects, the photography is quite atmospheric, there's some unexpected gore and who could ever forget the fantastic Oliver Onions title track::)

I always wondered why this amazingly weird futuristic action movie has never appeared on a proper digital release. No acceptable masters available, legal issues? Well, going by some exciting news it appears as if the problems have been settled: The film has just been re-rated in Germany, hinting at an upcoming release from label KSM. No official information as of now, but I am already stoked about the prospect of watching this one-of-a-kind cheesefest in a good-looking and hopefully uncut version. Apparently it will even be a BD release -- maybe a good alternative to the rumoured Midnight Legacy release that never came to be?

This is great news. I love this movie, its just the type of movie that has the right amount of insanity, and hilarity you'd expect from Italy.

I'd love a good looking copy of this, for sure. My version is from a Grindhouse multi set, and it's watchable, but... :-X

We need a plugin for the board software that will automatically play the respective title track when you start reading any given film thread. It would always set the right mood... :-\

An enjoyable romp this one but i just can't watch the English dub as Nick Alexander dub's Ivan Rassimov and his voice just doesn't match with Rassimov at all. Personally i find Nick Alexander's voice rather irritating anyway, bar Zombie flesh eaters which was ok.

Love that one, the unavailability of it makes it even more legendary over here.

Finally it seems like this gem is getting the treatment it deserves.
I have waited so long for this, my ancient vhs needs an update badly.
