That's amazing, hopefully other folks will take their lead and give 4K scans to other niche titles.
Admittedly this will probably not happen as VS own their own kit and can do these things in house but maybe other companies can utilise their tech and get stuff scanned by them.
Their "sister" company, now called OCN Digital Labs (
http://ocndigital.com/), has frequently done work for Synapse, Severin, Drafthouse Films, Distribpix, among others.
Ultimately, this equipment upgrade is great news, because it will surely result in better releases from other labels as well, including some of the above.
It's crazy to think some of these films were unavailable in home video formats, and now will have 4k scans, especially since most catalog releases from the big Hollywood studios, including some of the bigger classics, get 2k scans.
I'll definitely get this, never seen it and the tape goes for ridiculous money.
