Bit of debate about rly his one still Universal's original 1.85:1 master was destroyed in the Uni Studios fire a little while back. It was the one they used for the R1 DVD. Since then they did a new cropped 2:1 transfer for some reason and that was what was initially being used for this BD. No word since whether a new transfer has been done.

It was a 1.66:1 master wasn't it? (I might be splitting hairs there though). 2:1 sounds completely wrong though....

I think because it was a Universal distribution they can get away with 1.85:1 as that's what it would have probably been in the U.S. and probably shot with that in consideration. Here's an example of the two.

The colours are more vibrant on the original master as well.

I think someone at Universal did some research that Universal were using 2:1 as well at the time but in this case it just looks fucked up.

Actually, you're right. I could have sworn it was 1.85:1 on the DVD but it's 1.66:1 which makes it a whole lt worse.
