I'm looking to see what copies of this film people have to create a custom DVDR project with DarioArgento.

So far we have a (now English subbed) poor quality rip of the Italian VHS - but doing a search, there are quite a few releases of this film. Ideally we're looking for the best of what's available.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have the widescreen Japan Sony Exciting tape but unfortunately I don't have the means to be able to record NTSC to DVDR.


I can however provide you with a running time and/or high res scan of the cover for the custom menu?

Thanks for the offer Luca, unfortunately I'm in the same boat, I used to able to convert NTSC>PAL VHS but no longer have the player.

Doing some looking around, there's a (still sealed!) VHS on an Italian site, but it's 60 euros. There's also a Spanish release and a south American tape (I can't remember from where exactly) - Also, an American release as 'The Possessor' and the old UK release (as Exorcist 3)

The Italian audio track is fine, I think it's just the video side of things that could do with upgrading - Can anyone post some caps of the UK release? This would be ideal because it's a PAL master, and no on-screen subs.

Does anyone really know which one offers up the best print?

There's also a U.K. pre-cert under the title Naked Exorcism, not sure if it's the same print as the Exorcist III release or not though.

Only the Japanese tape is uncut, precert is cut as stated on the pre cert forum! Japanese tape has japan subs as usual so i think it can only be used to add the cut footage to a better video source! Btw good luck with this one guys!

just found i had a french lbx version as well, unfortunely due to damage only just under an hour is usable



so not a good start, as already stated the italian print is missing loads, mostly orgy related scenes. Definetely looking at laying the italian track over another video source, the Italian avi we have is not an option.

I have the US Wizard Video VHS under the title "Possessor," but I'm assuming it's cut? Not sure. I only recently acquired it and watched it late one night.

so can anyone furnish me with dvdr copies of the french lbx print and the jap print for the inserts ?

Intention - Italian/english with English subtitles

Test composite using the french, uk and italian versions , new runtime is 1hr 25mins 22 seconds @ PAL [1hr 29mins @NTSC]

Cheers Hellochas, I know Dario has a copy of the French tape on the way so we should now be in possession of all the materials we need.

Massive thanks for this - expect the deluxe custom DVDR as soon as the materials are all in.

Nice one Jonny and Hellochas, someone also uploaded the US Wizard release on CG yesterday so that makes three DVDR sources for Dario to work from
