I've got an uncut Italian language copy of this sexed up sleazy crime thriller which includes h/c inserts and goes under the title 'Quando le salamandre bruciano (Le porno salamandre)',anyone seen the softcore edit?

European Trash Cinema has it in their catalogue but I don't know if its the hardcore or softcore version.  How is it?  I'm not too familiar with the film but I'd be curious to see what the director of SLAUGHTER OF THE VAMPIRES does with a sex film.

How is it? 

It's nothing too special to be honest,more a curiosity piece because of the cast and director.

Someone posted a montage of Carmen Russo's softcore sex scenes at Dailymotion which will give you some idea of what to expect,Lodetti says in an interview that she and Russo knew a h/c version was being filmed at the same time though both actresses obviously didn't take part.
Look out for Mark Shannon around the halfway mark.
