[RFLX]

Hi,

I'm new here and more of a lurker than a poster on forums in general. But I stumbled upon this one and thought I might have something to contribute. Some of you may have come across my soundtrack mix trilogy, maybe some have not so...

Original scores, famous themes and lesser known sequences mixed together and combined with prototypical sounds and quotes from the various genres. No other material besides the scores, samples and FX were used to create these mixes. Enjoy!

It all started here:



This is a mix of soundtracks and cut up samples from 70s/80s horror movies. Sometimes the used samples correspond to the music directly, sometimes they don't (but work as a comment or build some kind of a narrative frame around certain parts of the mix). Music wise there are the obvious classics but also some lesser known tracks and some variations of well known themes.

From there I thought that all these sweet poliziotteschi soundtracks are way to good to ignore...



What we have got here is a mix of soundtracks and cut up samples from 70s (and two or three late 60s) Poliziotteschi/Italian Crime movies. Same procedure as with Rflx – Give-me-convenience: lots of original soundtracks combined with some prototypical quotes and sounds from the genre. There are longer parts within the mix where the sampled bits actually tell a little coherent story (but here and there I also just threw in some sleazy quotes for the fun of it). Music wise you will find most of the composers you would expect in a mix like this with some of their (genre) classics but also with some lesser known sequences. Besides a handful of scratch sounds no other material besides the scores, samples and FX were used to create this mix. Enjoy!

Hey Scyther, while browsing the forum I wondered if you were the same Scyther as on Soundcloud (thought so actually  ). Thanks for the kind words. There are plans for a fourth edition but nothing concrete atm so don't hold your breath.

"RFLX digs through his horror archive and delivers a mixtape of soundtracks, obscure radio trailers und 70’s horror sound effects. Music wise there will be a compulsive genre selection of synthesizer sounds, progressive rock and krautrock, sleazy funk and string staccatos. The show will be complemented by a Youtube playlist which consists of trailers of the films which are featured in the mix."
