I was there too; it was a pleasure to finally meet DjangoLi after all these years.

I didn't go to any of the screenings. It was bloody hot in Rome and I couldn't face being sat inside a small cinema. Also, the Mrs Wardh print was censored and had German audio. The panel before this screening was...interesting. Gastaldi and Martino were gentleman, George Hilton is a diva, but entertaining nonetheless. Unfortunately the Austrian woman interpreting from Italian to English did a poor job, even with my limited  understanding of Italian I could tell she was making numerous mistakes. Edwige didn't turn up, which disappointed many of the male attendees.

I had to leave on the Tuesday so didn't get to see the second panel. DjangoLi was there and  sure he'll report back on his experience chauffeuring George Hilton.

Was great to meet Marcus Stiglegger who does audio commentaries and extras for a number of German companies including Camera Obscura; he's a really nice, knowledgeable guy.

Got to spend some time with Sergio Martino and had dinner with his daughter Federica, who is a film maker in her own right and a lovely person. Hopefully going back in September to work on a very exciting project...more on this to follow.

It was my first time in Rome and Jonny is right, it's a special place.

I did enjoy standing in the exact spot where Radley Metzger must have shot the Piazza Venezia scene in THE OPENING OF MISTY BEETHOVEN.
