Author Topic: massacre in dinosaur valley vs emmanuelle and the last cannibals  (Read 13023 times)

both of these films are the ultimate in italian cheese and sleaze. dinosaur valley stars suzanne carvalho aka women in fury and a bunch of horny photographers and half nude models who find themselves trapped in the jungle after a plane crash. this is an ideal movie to pop in the player during a beer drinking party. emmanuelle was directed by damato and stars laura gemser and susan scott who has one of the hottest masturbation scenes in italian film history imo. these two would make a great double feature in a theater. which does everybody like better?

Never seen MASSACRE IN DINOSAUR VALLEY although I had the DVD in my hands once. I do plan to pick it up soon. I've only seen a cut version of the EMMANUELLE cannibal movie on cable years back. Been meaning to pick it up too.

I've only seen MASSACRE IN DINOSAUR VALLEY and really liked it, the main guy is alot like Terence Hill.

Have only seen "Emanuelle and the last Cannibals" and only warmed to it on my second viewing, which was the "Another World" uncut release.
It's silly as hell, but watched with the right mindset it surely delivers, though if you'd care for coherence and other technical details, it's a minor pain to sit through :-*
And what's this business with the smoking ape all about?
Where they constantly drunk during filming? :D
One wonders how it must have felt on the set of a fullblooded (s)exploiter like this.
To it's credit, no animals are mutilated on camera, though that ape clearly wasn't informed properly about the risks of smoking :o

Not sure why these 2 share the same thread as they don't have much in common apart from being cannibal films.

I wasn't very impressed by EMANUELLE AND THE LAST CANNIBALS. It is certainly good for what it is, it just cannot match Lenzi or Deodato's cannibal films. Should give it a watch again sometime.

DINOSAUR VALLEY is a great, enjoyable piece of 80s Italo-trash. Just as good as Tarantini's WOMEN IN FURY which is a women in prison film but has lots in common with DINOSAUR. Features Michael Sopkiw of BLASTFIGHTER and 2019 in the leading role. Both are out on great DVDs on the Shriek Show label and are well worth buying.

I prefer EMANUELLE AND THE LAST CANNIBALS because I got to see more of Susan Scott than I had banked on.  ::)

I know what you mean Martin, that has to be the sleaziest role of her career, along with her role in ORGASMO NERO!  :-\

Yeah ORGASMO NERO is sleazier still.  I think I'll have a sleazy Susan Scott double bill later.  Not seen them in a while.

His name is Michael Sopkiw, he was also the hero in 2019 and in Lamberto Bava's excellent BLASTFIGHTER.

Reminded you of Terence Hill? ? ?

Did anybody happen to get the early release of 2019? The one with the commentary track that was pulled for the bad mouthing of Tim Lucas and some other people?

I've got a shriek show dvd somewhere, don't know if it's the one though.

I'd like to see BLASTFIGHTER released on DVD, it's one of my favourite Lamberto Bava films.

If it doesn't have the commentary listed on the back it's the abridged re-release.

BLASTFIGHTER is out on DVD in Italy but unfortunately it has no English options... It is one of Lamberto's finest indeed! I only got to see it recently and I must say I was very impressed! Love the great music score and Sopkiw's gun!

Anyone who hasn't seen this who is capable of doing a dubbing job should watch it, i believe they will like it and endeavor to get one done :D
