Some caps from the German release at this link...

Looks like the caps have been stretched to 16:9 from 4:3 to me, maybe more to do with the player's settings that the grabs came from?

Yeah, looks like some fat-headedness and oval eyeballs going on but the credits cap looks okay.. Weird.

All definitely stretched. Doesn't matter to me if it's the grabs or if the disc is incorrectly flagged - I can just press a button on my telly to fix that. They don't look too bad so I think I'll pick up a disc next month.

Excatly the same thoughts here, looks miles better than the copy I have from VHS.

Question is ....  which German disc are they from? I think there's three different companies released it in total. If they all used the same master then it's not a problem.

They're from the release by KNM Entertainment.

What a shit cover!

I saw that one on eBay and apart from the rating I thought it looked like some dodgy copy! The X-Rated ones  look much nicer but double the price and if this one doesn't have the 'watermark' issue I'll have to get one myself sometime.

As long as the spine is alright I don't really care. Though if you've seen the film it's quite an amusing cover to be honest.

With any luck I should be getting a copy of the X-Rated small box sometime next week so I'll try and post up some grabs. Never actually done it before so bear with me!

Here we go..

Didn't get time to watch it in full but gave it a quick scan on the comp. Looks like the region warning is easily bypassed by starting in German and switching audio to English on the fly, which I tried after I took the shots. Haven't tested that on my player yet but worked fine on the comp. Looks pretty good to me in general. Only noticed one short section where another source was used, which is the third cap. I thought I'd uploaded them at full size but it seems not!

Just watched it and a huge slice of fun. Definitely undeserved of it's rep and Palance alone is enough to stop it from getting too pedestrian. It's not like you can go into it expecting an Oscar winning performance from him back then. He's almost as nuts in this as in his TORTURE GARDEN segment and that's the highlight of that film. Still remembered bugger all about it mind, which made it even better.

Couldn't switch audio on my player so had to watch with the region warning but it's so small I didn't really notice after a few minutes. Found a few more very short inferior source sequences, all basement scenes but didn't throw me out of it at all. Looks really good for 99%. Wouldn't mind knowing what the KNM disc is like still, if that's the one you end up getting Jonny,

Was in The Cinema Store today while killing some time. Never a good place to be when you're potless but they had the Swedish DVD there.
