Private Road (Barney Platts-Mills, 1971)

I've not really seen many of these "Kitchen Sink" drama's till recently because to be honest I used to find this sort of thing unappealing but have been getting into them. Bruce Robinson plays a young writer who falls for Susan Penhaligon (who at some angles looks a bit like Susan George) and she moves in with him much to the dismay of her upper class father (played by Robert Brown who went on to become M in the Bond films after Bernard Lee passed away). I found the film enjoyable enough viewing throughout but when it finished I had a feeling it could have done  with another 10 minutes or so to finish the story off.

[amazondvd]Private Road[/amazondvd] is worthy of a viewing but I did enjoy [amazondvd]Bronco Bullfrog[/amazondvd] more.

There is a half hour short from 1974 called "The Last Chapter" starring Denholm Elliott and Susan Penhaligon that is really good. There's also a lengthy topless scene with Penhaligon too, she looks lovely  8)

Seen some caps from this short but have yet to find our if it's available anywhere.
Seems like the pinacle of Penhaligon gazing.  I recently watched MIRACLE STILL HAPPEN was was quite taken with her performance.
Inspector, do you know where I might find a copy ( if it's been released )?
opps edit:
Thanks, just noticed it's an extra on the DVD!

I love PRIVATE ROAD. The BFI's Blu-ray looks amazing.
