I think it's not the same as the Italian DVD.. here's info from their blog:

"We did a brand new 16x9 transfer, and we feel technicolor Rome did a fantastic job, and by going back to the negatives, the film is much much longer than ever before! About 17 min longer than the U.S cut in fact! And it is even longer than the UK version by 8 min! Not only is Franco Nero now in the beginning of the film, telling the children about the plot, but Sam Peckinpah has all his scenes back in as well!"

Yeah, but I can't help thinking that due to all that being posted a couple of years before the Italian DVD came out that Stormovie used that new transfer, Nero is in the beginning of the Italian version and Pekinpah is there also... I'm probably being way too cynical but I'm hoping to be proven wrong!

Looks better to me! Definitely more fine detail in the Code Red caps.

Cheers Eric  :P

http://10kbullets.com/reviews/v/visitor-the/

Fair play to 10kbullets for often being the first online with their reviews but they do always seem very rushed and the writing suffers because of it...

One of the more memorable moments in which Katy uses her telekinetic powers. Is a scene where she is at a ice skating ring and when her actions annoy some older boys who are also skating. She embraces her darker side as she toys with them.

I guess it's because the reviewer's English skills are a bit rough but I find those reviews terribly awkward, and hence I never bother to read them. I just jump right to the technical part and look at the screenshots.

My copy arrived from Amazon today!  ::)

I've only watched the prologue scene yet but I must say it was extremly atmospheric and well-shot. I'm planning on sitting down and watching the whole film tomorrow.
