Mr Grimes, the time has come when I no longer get excited about opening one of your new threads. You are such a tease!  :-\

The two 01 DVDs I have are both stunning transfers so at least that bodes well for this release. Fingers crossed for English subs though!  :'(

Thnks for that. But I'm still feeling like a pot-bellied dart player who got to the final round on BULLSEYE only to discover I've lost and could have won a a caravan. Cheers!  ::)

This film was already released in a box set by Raro - no English options...

Wasn't there a problem with the transfers in that Raro box?

It was a rush job released just after he died, that may have something to do with it.

Yeah,as Aarron said the boxset was a rush job and some of the transfers were.Hopefully this single disk will be remastered.Whatever happens i'll be buying it as it's a great film and as well as Merola it also stars the meditating hippy with the painted face from Di Leo's TO BE TWENTY-Leopoldo Mastelloni.
Check this out: :)

Great film. You can't go wrong with a Brescia film where Mario Merola sings in his restaurant and then gets attacked by hooded criminals. Just from the title you can tell its a classic. I own the Italian widescreen VHS. Hopefully the forthcoming disc will be widescreen as well.

There's a new Italian language book coming out in November about these Napoli based crime/camorra movies titled 'Napoli... Serenata calibro 9. Storia e immagini della camorra tra cinema, sceneggiata e neomelodici',250 pages including photos/art as well as features on the films and stars(Merola,Brescia etc).€20.

No English text but i'll be getting one,the pictures were the deciding factor for me and apart from a few articles in Nocturno/Cine 70 etc there is nothing else in print about these obscure crime movies.
