Has anyone picked up the new Italian disc of THE NIGHT PORTER? It has Italian and English language tracks and is supposed to be anamorphic. There was a previous non-anamorphic Italian disc that was also English-friendly.
Anchor Bay UK released an anamorphic disc but it appears that this was done by cropping and resizing the 4:3 letterbox master also provided to Criterion (the review shows a screencap where the title is cropped - that is because on the Criterion non-anamorphic disc, the title sequence is letterboxed at a different ratio than the rest of the film and the cropping seems to have been done to accomodate that ratio without adjusting it for the different ratio of the titles).
I'd love to see Criterion revisit this one.

Will he getting the UK blu if it gets good reviews. The Anchor Bay DVD is one of the worst transfers I've ever seen. Shockingly bad, like a pirate VHS.

Can't image those Blurays having different running times. Aren't they all sourced from Canal+?

DVD Compare has the UK one listed as 117m 59s with no cuts. Not sure where Amazon would get 112m from as it doesn't even match up to a PAL runtime.

Blu Ray times aren't different like PAL and NTSC. If something is the same version say in the U.K. and U.S. there won't be different running times :D

That was more about Amazon being a bit lazy sometimes and regurgitating old DVD specs, just like they still put Region 2 in the Blu-Ray details sometimes. :D
