Title: What are the sleaziest and/or most violent Eurocrime flicks?
Post by: Bogan The Wanderer on 03 Oct 2009 - 21:48
Just pondering which of these dozens and dozens of Eurocrime titles I should check out in the search for sexy gals and nasty violence.  I'm way more familiar with giallos, Eurohorror and a few spaghetti westerns, but the Eurocrime field is a bit of a mystery to me.  I like what I've seen, I have a few good Di Leo movies, a couple of the Castellari titles, RICO THE MEAN MACHINE, BLAZING MAGNUM and have a copy of BLAZING FLOWERS on the way, but does anyone have any extra thoughts about which titles really deliver the goods with sex, nudity and violence (if any).  I figure this topic question is a bit different from asking people their faves, MILAN CALIBRE 9 is a fave of mine but though nasty at the start I wouldn't call it super extreme or particularly sleazy.  I'm just pondering if there's any titles European Trash Cinema (lovers of everything sleazy, trashy and violent) would have championed back in the day.   :-*

STREET KILLERS/BEAST WITH A GUN/FEROCIOUS

(whatever title it's under at the time)

with Helmut Berger and Richard Harrison should be right up your street, with rape, brutal beatings and murders, mutilation, it's sleazy as fuck!

Another one i suggest is Lucio Fulci's THE SMUGGLER/CONTRABAND/THE NAPLES CONNECTION with Fabio Testi.

Good advice - I suspect for the violent movies I need to check out a few of the Merli titles, which I've never seen.  CONTRABAND I've seen and jeez it's nasty.  I imagine there's stacks of Eurocrime movies I'm going to enjoy

Definitely Imperoli's COME CANI ARRABBIATI which is quite raw and loaded with sleaze and violence, just a shame the only way to see it currently is via that terrible Greek vhs.

Hopefully a new DVD will appear for that one at some point.  I'll try and seek it out though.

THE PERFECT KILLER with Lee Van Cleef. It has razor slashings, transvestite beatings, shots to the genitals, and a porno-esque score by Cipriani.

But perhaps the most convincing case for the film is that when my pop watched it, he said, "I feel sorry that Van Cleef had to make trash like that."

BEAST WITH A GUN is a good one. How about DAY OF VIOLENCE, VIOLENCE FOR KICKS, SAVAGE THREE and WEAPONS OF DEATH? ALMOST HUMAN has a special place in my heart as well.

These are all going on my get list, some top recommendations there.  I think extra sleaze, sex and violence typically makes for a better film.  I wish other directors would emulate the great Italian filmmakers of the 70's more often.

These also have a fair dollop of sleaze too: Bloody Friday, Polizia Selvaggia (Turkish version more action, Italian version more nudity), Rabid Dogs, Porci Con La. P 38 and the mighty Roma Violenta.

The last desperate hours and Super bitch don't shy away from the sleaze and violence!

The perfect killer is awesome. Van Cleef's character is a big time womanizer while looking so utterly wasted that's not even funny anymore...that's the funniest part of it for me!

Contraband is probably the mosdt violent. It's Fulci after all. He manages quite easily to include his beloved gore effects into a Polizio.

My vote for most sleazy is definetly Cryof a Prostitute. but that one is really quite boring. I'd follow that with The Boss. The main character takes a kidnapee as his paramour mainly to enjoy satisfying her nymphomaniac needs.

I'd second those. CONTRABAND is great. Ditto IL BOSS and CRY OF A PROSTITUTE.

TEENAGE PROSTITUTION RACKET isn`t exactly your standard eurocrime movie , but a must-see for sleaze-fans ! Di Leo´s TOY , THE SEWER RATS / UNA DONNA PER SETTE BASTARDI by Roberto Montero and finally Tano Cimarosa`s DEATH HUNT would also be a nice choice for both sex and violence ! :D
