That's a cracking price. I'll see how the next couple of weeks go for money and I'll probably be picking one up myself.

You've got to be quick with the network deals Rich, also i think they only last a week.
When they had a deal with the full set of the Sweeney it sold out the first or second day it was advertised.
-
I don't know too much about this television show but at that price I am tempted to give it a whirl.
And Tanzi is right, you have to be quick. I wanted The Sweeney set but it sold out in about 24 hours and ended up buying the individual series sets that were only £4.99 each.
It is £32.97 at Amazon but still a good saving.

Fuck it. Just ordered it; the kids can starve. :P

Perhaps their uncle Aarron can send them an emergency ration parcel of jellied eels.

I would do but i reckon they will go bad by the time you get them.
Any Welsh dragon's you can go and slay, i hear they taste a bit like a nice steak.

I'll take that as a seal of approval for the series. I have just gone for it myself. Thanks for the heads up on this Aarron. :P
Just noticed that Network are releasing Callan in the new year.

I remember buying the separate series one set before Network decided to just release a complete series box set. I'm glad I sprung for the complete series. What I missed from the first box set are English subtitles but the complete series set added the ITC opening and ending title sequences after the episode, the WHO KILLED LAMB? episode (not a THRILLER episode but screened as part of the series), some other goodies, and the alternate version of IF IT'S A MAN, HANG UP (actually there are three different version, only two of which appear in the set). It's too bad that they weren't able to source all of the alternate footage that appeared in the ITC versions as not only was new US shot footage inserted but some original outtakes were supposed to have been used as well.
I've been trying to collect the alternate ITC versions on DVDR as well. I've got:
THE KILLER WITH TWO FACES
KILLER IN EVERY CORNER
THE NEXT VICTIM
SCREAMER
THE DEVIL'S WEB
I have THE CARNATION KILLER (aka THE COLOUR OF BLOOD) on tape only (a rare release from the defunct big box company AIR Video).

Only £40 shipping to Belgium... :o
Did you want to buy one? If you'd like I could order one for you and post it on to you. I'm sure that would work out a bit cheaper.
-
Cracking series ! Think i got mine for around 35 quid off hmv a couple of years ago. Still haven't watched them all !

That would be very nice of you,any idea how much the shipping would be then?
On Network's site they state this weighs more than a kg.

I'm pretty certain it doesn't weigh over 1kg. But even if it did that should only cost about £6 to send to Belgium.

Strange,this what I get from Network's site:

All I'm saying is that I have this set and I'm pretty sure it doesn't weigh 1.2kg.
I might be wrong, I'll weigh it when I get home tonight...
Besides, if it does weigh that much here's how much it will cost to send to Belgium via Royal Mail...
Royal Mail price for a 1.2kg parcel to Belgium (http://sg.royalmail.com/portal/rm/PriceFinderResults?pageId=pc_sltc_rm_results&keyname=rmPriceFinderResults&catId=23500532)

Thriller Complete Box Set - Amazon.co.uk (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001KY2QDY/ref=nosim?tag=lovelockandlo-21)
Edit: Amazon one is the repackaged version & says 16 discs as opposed to 15 discs at Network.

My copy, which I bought when it first came out, only lists the contents of discs thirteen, fourteen, and fifteen on the back of its volume four double amaray case but there are in fact sixteen discs inside. Disc sixteen has the bonus features, including the alternate version of IF IT'S A MAN HANG UP.

Mine arrived today.

So how is everybody enjoying this so far? It's really is cracking stuff, isn't it. We're currently about to start the fourth disc - which means it should probably take us until about the summertime to finish off the set; trying not to rush it too much and savour it a bit.
-
So how is everybody enjoying this so far?
enjoying it so far,i'm watching them here and there, i've seen 6 or 7 of them at the moment.
-
I'm getting all nostalgic when I watch an episode, really takes me back to the 70's... :D
-
Anyone finished the entire boxset yet? I'm slacking, only watched about half a dozen episodes so far! ???
-
I've watched about twelve so far. There have been some highly memorable episodes.
-

I'm not much further ahead than you Jonny, I've watched eight!
-
I'm not much further ahead than you Jonny, I've watched eight!
Are you watching them in order? I started doing that but after watching a couple of snoozers in a row I started picking episodes out at random from across the series.
The episode where John Carson whistles (Possession) was rather weak I seem to remember. Bloody whistling was annoying. :-*
-
I loved Possession, definitely one of my favourites.
Also liked The Colour of Blood, Lady Killer and especially File it Under Fear.

Yeah in order, apart from one which was the Diana Dors episode.
-
We've watched 16 of the episodes so far (in order); can't say that I thought any of them were 'snoozers'. Kind of stopped for a while because we started piling through the ARMCHAIR THRILLER boxset.

Any good, I've got that but haven't opened it yet.
-
We're really enjoying it. As a child of the seventies I have the occasional flashbacks whilst watching them; but even without that most of the stories stand up today.
-
can't say that I thought any of them were 'snoozers'.
Probably the mood I was in at the time but 'An Echo Of Theresa' just didn't do anything for me at all.

Possibly.

I'll try, though it may be a struggle.
What's your favourite episode so far? Clemen's fave was 'A Coffin For the Bride' apparently. Might stick that one on next.

And as a child of the 80s I've thought they were all good
-
What's your favourite episode so far?
Don't really have a favourite - they all sort of follow the same basic plot quite consistently; there's just a few that weren't as good as the rest.
-
can't say that I thought any of them were 'snoozers'.
Probably the mood I was in at the time but 'An Echo Of Theresa' just didn't do anything for me at all.
I didn't expect to like it when watching the opening teaser but I found it entertaining. I also liked the more comic K IS FOR KILLING (with Gayle Hunnicut and Stephen Rea).
Out of the ones I've watched so far I've liked POSSESSION (with John Carson), ECHO OF TERESA, COLOUR OF BLOOD (enjoyed Norman Eshley as the psycho), MURDER IN MIND, ONLY A SCREAM AWAY, K IS FOR KILLING, I'M THE GIRL HE WANTS TO KILL, COME OUT COME OUT WHEREVER YOU ARE (with Carson and Linda Day George), SCREAMER, A KILLER IN EVERY CORNER, WON'T WRITE HOME MOM - I'M DEAD (with Pamela Franklin and Ian Bannen), SLEEPWALKER, and THE NEXT VICTIM.
IF ITS A MAN HANG UP is okay. LADY KILLER was boring for the first two thirds until the twist at the end.
SOMEONE AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS, A PLACE TO DIE, SPELL OF EVIL, ONCE THE KILLING STARTS, KISS ME AND DIE, and ONE DEADLY OWNER are bad.
I saw MURDER MOTEL and THE KILLER WITH TWO FACES in their "feature" versions on tape some time ago. I didn't think much of them then but I don't remember so I'll have to see them again to decide.
The titles that I have not mentioned above are the ones I haven't seen yet. I haven't been watching them in sequence. Sometimes I put one on because of the cast listing.
-
I was at a car boot yesterday and there was a guy selling a set of these on DVD. Thought he’d probably want £15 for it, max. £30 is what he said. “£30?” I asked before turning my back and walking away. £30. At a car boot sale. Haha.
-
The complete series is being released in Canada but it's only twelve discs compared to the Network sixteen. There's an Australian set with eighteen discs and a couple additional extras including a commentary with John Carson on IN POSSESSION but it seems too pricey to import when I already have the Network
-
Am chugging my way through this slowly at the moment. Bit like trying to run through treacle for me, and generally I love TV of this vintage.
-
Been putting this off for so long but finally went for it during the ITV sale for the absurd price of £15.60 shipped. Now have to find time to actually watch it among a load of other stuff I've got recently. Wish i'd had the cash to grab Armchair Thriller. as well. I seem to remember the one with the Nun shitting me up a. bit when I was a kid especially.
