We are very proud and incredibly happy to announce the upcoming release of one of our personals favorites: Alain Robbe-Grillet's wonderful 1970 masterpiece L'EDEN ET APRES aka EDEN AND AFTER.
The disc will feature a French audio track with English and German subtitles and an anamorphic transfer from the original negative. As usual, the DVD will be completely English-friendly from head to toe. We're trying our best to find some nice extras as well.
Since it's not that easy to aquire picture material for this film, any hint at posters, lobby cards, etc. would be highly appreciated!

Great announcement. Will you be making use of the Italian HD master (the HD masters for the Ripley's releases were done in Italy at LVR, not in France)? The Ripley's DVD has an interview with Robbe-Grillet in French with Italian subtitles.
Not sure about posters and the like. The Robbe-Grillet books I've read were not heavy on art or stills.

We're not sure which master we will get from the licensor, but I'm pretty sure it's the same as the Italian DVD. We're trying to get the interview from that disc, plus some more stuff.

will buy!

I don't know why I didn't think of it before but a must-have extra would be N TOOK THE DICE which is a re-edited TV version of EDEN AND AFTER with different scene order and alternate takes.

strange - they've used an image from "angeli bianchi, angeli neri" for the dvd artwork. or at least, it's on the cover of the soundtrack cd by easy tempo.
or could it be the other way round - have eaysy tempo used an image from "Eden" for the "Angeli"-soundtrack?

In August 2008, Seattle's Northwest Film Forum (NFF) had a retrospective called The Labrynthine Alain Robbe–Grillet and presented, The Immortal Woman (1962); Trans–Europe–Express (1966); The Man Who Lies (1968); and Eden and After (1971). It was excellent. ;)

saw "Trans-Europ-Express" recently, and I was severely disappointed.
found the whole thing far too flimsy and superficial to be interesting.
Despite some memorable scenes i have to say I was really bored.
I'll give this one a try, though.

Apologies, but I do not see the link for this film release you are talking about. I have the French version with no subtitles but it would be nice to see the English subtitles as my French is not that good. Thanks,
-
I figured out how to incorporate the .srt file into my .avi so just ignore my earlier request.
-
I have the Italian RHV DVD but would love to upgrade - I'm sure the Camera Obscura version will blow it away in terms of quality, plus the English subs option is always nice!

They are probably using the same HD master (the HD transfer was done in Italy at LVR, not in France).
Where Camera Obscura could blow it away is in the English subtitle options for the film and any extras they can provide.
