"Bloody Moon" was a somewhat bad start for me when I set out to check out some Franco back in the 90's. His Erwin C. Dietrich produced efforts have certainly raised my appreciation of him though, with "Love Letters of a Portugese Nun" as a clear favourite.

"Les Demons" is superb too and I'm glad I got the "X Rated" DVD with the three alternate cuts. ;)

Speaking of "X Rated": I just feel somewhat sorry for him that he got involved with Bethmann's "Rossa Venezia", probably the very worst "horror" movie I've seen in the last 10 years. :o
(Well, I guess he knew what he got himself into, but anyway...that's how I felt when watching his cameo.)

I'm down with uncle Jess. His films have a certain asthetic that just works for me. I'm aware he's made a lot of crap, so I try to do a little research on his films before I buy them. Thankfully thus far I've managed to avoid anything truly dire.

I have a love/ hate relationship with Franco. Some like VAMPYROS LESBOS I've grown to like but sorry Mart I thought JACK THE RIPPER was awful..... I've only seen one of his later films and it was appalling - KILLER BARBYS or something along those lines (I've tried to forget it...)

No need to apologise.  I ain't a rabid Franco fan.  :D

I've wanted to see the KILLER BARBYS films for a while because they've got Aldo Sambrell and Peter Martell in them but never got round to it.  Don't know if I'll ever bother because I've only heard bad things about them.

Sadisterotica is one of my fav Franco movies, it's the companion piece to Kiss Me Monster which also stars Janine Reynaud and Rosanna Yanni as the Red Lips detective duo. When a number of models disappear, their likenesses featuring in a series of pop art paintings which show them being killed, the Red Lips detective agency is called in to investigate. It turns out that a sinister painter, played by Adrian Hoven, is hiring young girls to pose for him and then setting his wolfmanlike assistant Morpho on them. Well made and good fun with a great musical score from Jerry Van Rouyen, this is quintessential 60's Franco. Unfortunately the UK dvd release of this is best avoided as the usually reliable Anchor Bay have put out a dark, colourless, full frame version that's considerably inferior to the old Redemption vhs.

I'll wait.

I caught a large chunk of Franco's FEMALE VAMPIRE on the Movies4men channel last week.It was quite dull really but the lead totty vampire character walking around wearing nothing but  a cape and belt was very pleasant to look at. 8)
