Mid 60's gothic horror set in 'Old Scotland' but filmed at Balsorano and featuring, amongst others,a young Gianni Dei.
Can anyone confirm if this ever had a UK cinema release?

Screenshots from the old Tele Antenna tv broadcast.
I've always liked this one but would love to see it via a better looking copy,if anyone can help shoot me a pm for a trade.
Thanks.

Any idea why it also has the English title in the Italian credits?

All the cast and crew names during the opening credits have been Anglicised as well so at a guess i'd say it was done to try and fool Italian audiences into thinking they were about to watch some big budget gothic horror import from England.

A translation of a quick review by Ronax on Davinotti's site  :-\

Insubstantial amateur horror directed by the unknown Garibaldi Serra Caracciolo at his first and last opus. Running as a telefilm and featuring actors suitable for a school act at the end of a year and a domestic location which should stand in for the usual Scottish castle, this movie is clearly unable to transmit any scrap of fear. Almost astonished you can laught at watching it for a while, then your eyes begin inexorably to drop. Amongst many unknown actors under unlikely English aliases a beardless and not promising at all Gianni Dei peeps out
