Has anyone seen REC as of yet? If not, I'll have to say that I was stunned. I saw a press screening at 10am and was suitably spooked! Had the pleasure of interviewing both directors, meeting the lovely actress. Another bonus was the head of press at the festival was Paco's brother - hence getting to meet all over lunch.

It does raise the question on how far we can go with the FPS (first person perspective) camcorder horror. As far I am concerned, REC is the sky high limit. Now prepare for the remake.

PS: Don't ask the filmmakers if it's a zombie film. It's one about a highly contagious virus...  :D

First I'd heard of this, Jay. Just looked it up - is this also known as 'Quarantined' and directed by John Erick Dowdle?

That's the US remake. The writers are the same as the original - nice Spanish fellas.

I see! This is directed by the guy that did NAMELESS - I thought that was a cracking film. Wasn't gone on DARKNESS, though and I never saw FRAGILE.

That's one of the chaps, certainly. Like I said, an amazing movie that builds its horror on layer after layer after layer. The finale is really something else.

Just got back from a preview of this new Spanish horror film. Really enjoyed it. It's like Chris Cunningham doing The Blair Witch Project. Anyone else had a chance to see it yet?

It's gonna be screening at this year's Frightfest I believe. I love all of Balagueró's stuff.

I finally had a chance to check this out this evening and I thought it was great. Really well paced with some great scares. I know it's different type of film, but I watched Cloverfield yesterday and the POV style work so much better here.

Big 6ft high posters for [Rec] just appeared in the advertising boards at work this week with an April 11th UK theatrical release date...

Great news. I was a bit disappointed with Fragile but really enjoyed Balaguero's first two films.

I don't buy the News Of The World very often anymore, but there was a rave review of the film in todays edition. First I'd heard of it. Sounds good!

Watch this as soon as you can, the Spanish DVD has English subtitles. You'll not be disappointed.
