My box set arrived here today.
I have listened to Cipriani's score this morning. It is a good one, although it's not stunning. Something between Nicolai's Défense de Savoir and Cipriani's own Cani Arribiati.
Nicolai's L'Uomo dellla Strada is very jazzy, with a prominent piano and some good horns and a fuzzy guitar now and then. As for now I prefer this one above Cipriani's score, but, as I said, I just received the CDs and these are my very first impressions.
I will devour the Big Racket after dinner. I am sure it will be a feast.
The booklet is a bit of a disappointment. Some sparse commentaries on the movies, little to no information about the music, but loaded with images from photobusta ads (colored grey-scale pix) and reproductions of the three locandina.
Anyway, no reason to complain. I purchased this box set for Euro 21, just seven for each CD and very fair postage. A good bargain, in particular because only scraps of these soundtracks had been released before.
