The fandub of this is terrific.  I knew there were jumps in the Eurovista print's video and audio but I didn't realize how much of the opening narration was missing including a line midway through the credits when Cord is looking through the scope into the tomb that made no sense in the Eurovista version because the middle of it was missing.

Was there a soundtrack release for this film?  Soundtrack Collector only lists it under the title "The Dead Are Alive" which suggests that they have no idea that its even an Italian film.

Cool news indeed. I'm pretty friendly with Mr. Cord. Anyone know whether he's involved yet, or should I drop him a line....

Any recommendations about where to purchase this Code Red release? Diabolik DVD has already sold out...

The screenshots from the Code Red release don't look too hot to me. I find the look on the German DVD much more pleasing, so I'll pass on this release.

Dvd Beaver's grabs of The Weekend Murders also didn't look so hot but it's a fine disc...so maybe this one is too?

I looked at the CR and fandub with the same software.  the difference is there.  TVs have their own picture settings which is why some discs have those THX optimizer guides.  a lot of transfers (be it HD mastered or VHS-sourced) look sharper and sometimes brighter on an interlaced TV than they do on a progressive monitor and some HDTVs have noise reduction controls and other stuff that might be adjustable or might be on by default.
