I've seen the Greek version under the title THE FOURTH VICTIM and I quite like this. It's ostensibly a Spanish film, made by Spanish director Eugenio Martin (TERROR EXPRESS, A CANDLE FOR THE DEVIL), but with some Italian actors and crew members along for the ride.
Michael Craig stars as Arthur Anderson whose blonde, pretty wife is found suspiciously drowned in their swimming pool. Because he two previous wives also died strange deaths, Anderson is charged with murder, and only gets off because his motherly housekeeper lies under oath to clear his name. Soon a pretty blonde woman (Carroll Baker) shows up and starts flirting with Anderson but it's clear from the get-go that she may not be who she seems to be. She quickly becomes the fourth Mrs. Anderson (on of the film's numerous AKAs) but is her husband a regular Bluebeard? Is there something else going on? And what is the deal about the mysterious blonde woman played by giallo favorite Marina Malfatti we keep seeing?
Compelling little mystery with another welcome Euro performance by Carroll Baker (a personal favorite), a fantastic Piero Umiliani score and good fun. It's not a top-notch giallo (the pacing may be too slow for some and there isn't much gore) but overall this is a nice little film.
I also really like the outstanding Spanish actor José Luis Lopez Vazquez from the famous short LA CABINA (1972) and the bizarre but excellent drama NO ES BUENO QUE EL HOMBRE ESTÉ SOLO (1973), who delivers a solid performance as the British police inspector.
