BTW - the version Optimum submitted to the BBFC in 2006 was fullscreen. Let's not panic just yet; they seem to put a lot of titles through for TV broadcast. They may still resubmit a widescreen version, though it's probably unlikely.

And its hard-matted so a fullscreen version would definitely be cropped, not opened up.  The Magnetic VHS release in the US had letterboxed credits before going to fullscreen while the later, much sharper and more colorful Charter Entertainment tape was all fullscreen so the credits sequence was cropped on the sides and on the bottom so most of the credits were unreadable.

Sad news I'm afraid – had an updated schedule through this afternoon and the film has fallen off completely

Finally back on the schedule from Optimum and due for release on 11th January. It's certainly a lot more likely for it to come out this time as the artwork has also surfaced:

Wow, great - finally! And the soundtrack will be out shortly from Digitmovies.

That soundtrack artwork is a lot nicer than that of the DVD.

The cover has the Studio Canal logo on it.  The French release was from Artedis but it is not listed in their catalog (which contains several Claude Chabrol films) most of which has been released in the US by Pathfinder Entertainment.

Incidentally, Optimu have an eBay account and they sell a lot of their DVDs and Blu-rays off quite cheaply a while after release.
