I've seen a Nocturno sell-through tape of Umberto Lenzi's SO SWEET SO PERVERSE pop up on ebay every once in a while.  Does anyone know if it is a widescreen release?  I have two DVDRs of this film.  One is the English language Greek-subtitled, cropped release.  The other is an Italian language release with English titles that is also cropped.

Hopefully, someone reissues the soundtrack CD (perhaps coupled with the original music for SEVEN BLOODSTAINED ORCHIDS which largely recycled SO SWEET's themes).

We have licensed the small amount of new music which was composed for SEVEN BLOODSTAINED ORCHIDS, and at the moment the licensor is trying to find their tapes. This will be paired with Riz Ortolani's music for DEATH STEPS IN THE DARK and this CD will hopefully be out in April.  :P

really great news. I love the score for SEVEN BLOODSTAINED ORCHIDS. A music theme from that was earlier featured in SO SWEET SO PERVERSE and later in Akira Ide's mondo film NUOVA GUINEA L'ISOLA DEI CANNIBALI. Can't wait for the CD.

Nice one Magnus! Put me down for a copy!

And on-topic, I've only got the English language greek subtitled copy myself. Certainly wouldn't mind an upgrade. Still a few of Lenzi's gialli that need to make it onto dvd.
I've got the the Hexacord CD and might be able to help you out ecc!

Thanks Peter, I would appreciate that.

Also looking forward to the ORCHIDS CD.  ORGASMO and PARANOIA on CD would be nice too!  I think I've seen an ORGASMO LP cover somewhere.

Yes I noticed that too. I'm sure that an English-friendly version will surface in the near future.  :-X

I'll probably get a copy and try to do a fandub.  I've been looking for this one for a while in widescreen.  The Italian copy I have is fullscreen and I have not been able to determine if its an ex-rental or if the Nocturno tape was cropped (the Italian DVDR I have has English credits like Nocturno's CONTRANATURA tape and I'm thinking if there was an ex-rental it would've had Italian credits).

ECC: In response to the original question, I have the Italian Nocturno tape and it's full screen mate, it's a superb print though. I was going to fan sub it but now I think I'll stick around for your fan dub of the new DVD release!  :P

I've ordered it.  It should be here in a couple days.  Anyone know of any differences between the English and Italian versions I should take into account?

Just got the disc today.  Just the "play movie" and "scene selections" as extras.  16:9 and Italian mono sound.  Strange thing is that the Variety Film logo is silent and the music starts in a little abruptly.  I was wondering if this was a problem with the elements for the DVD as the English version begins with the start of the song on the first shot.  On the other hand the song also ends abruptly on Trintignant firing his shotgun.  The Italian track however seems to have started abruptly so that the director's credit coincides with the last lyrics of the song.

I'll post some screencaps later.
