I e-mailed Craig about the version listed at European Trash Cinema to check if it actually is the English version. Unfortunately, it turns out it's the French version but he had forgotten to include that info in the listing. A real pity but I guess it was too good to be true...

Btw, has anybody noticed that IMDb also lists another Filippo Walter Ratti film called I PREDATORI SI MUOVONO ALL'ALBA (1972) that stars Sylva Koscina, Lou Castel, Barbara Bach, Giacomo Rossi Stuart and Gianni Garko?

With such a fantastic cast, this one sounds really, really interesting but does this film actually exist? I can't find a single Italian movie database that verifies its existance. Is this an unfinished or unreleased film? Or is this simply a case of some idiot having fun by getting a fake movie listed on the IMDb?!?

Clip from the Rete 4 broadcast which looks like it might be from the same master as the Shendene tape, bit of a long shot but does anyone have a copy of this tv showing?

I just looked at the credits for this film as listed on its BFI page: http://ftvdb.bfi.org.uk/sift/title/298607?view=credit

Notice the credit of "additional dialogue" for English dubbing veteran Ted Rusoff. I think that proves once and for all that this film was dubbed into English. I just wonder what the hell happened to this dub and why the English version hasn't had a single video release!

Movietime owns the English version (along with the unreleased - on video - English versions of ANGEL FOR SATAN and CONTRANATURA).

Really? Are you sure about that? On their website they only list the Italian version...

The Rete4 broadcast does look the same as the Shendene tape. I watched it a few months ago.

Do you mean Margheriti's Contronatura? Would love to see an English version of that some day... I have a widescreen Italian tape - beautiful-looking film.

Does Contronatura star Dominique Boschero? I was contemplating getting the VHS tape from Kult Video.

I added your subs to my DVDR copy (likely from the Shendene tape) and synched it up with the first lines of dialogue as mine begins earlier than your source (mine starts with the credits, I'm guessing you've got some logos or something before then).

The sync seems uneven on my copy at least.  Part of that seems to be the Italian dubbing of French actors (especially Brice, who has not aged well since MILL OF STONE WOMEN) and his Italian girlfriend but just when I think the audio is slightly out of sync, it syncs back up dialogue-wise so I think its the fault of the original synchronisation.  When Brice aps the skull twice early on, that effect is out of sync but the dialogue around it seems to be okay.  Same with the subs, some seem to come up a little early but then the next line will be perfectly synchronized with the dialogue so I'm guessing you timed some a few milliseconds earlier so there would be time to read them?
