Anyone else a fan of this great comedian's work? Granted, LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL was a little overrated (but still excelelnt in my opinion) but the man has directed some great films.
JOHNNY STECCHINO is a great comedy of mistaken identity in whcih Benigni plays a bumbling bumpkin embroiled in a plot to kill a mafia grass.
On IMDB:

Mistaken identity also forms the basis for THE MONSTER, in which he is suspected of being a serial killer:

The only other of his directed/starring films I have seen is 2005's THE TIGER AND THE SNOW - this is superb and finds him following the girl of his dreams to war-torn Iraq.
Definitely not to all tastes, but I find the guy hilarious.

I really enjoyed Johnny Stecchino and find Roberto Benigni very funny. Personally I loved Life Is Beautiful, I thought it was an incredibly moving film and Benigni played his part very well. If anybody likes Benigni then I recommend watching Jim Jarmusch's, Night On Earth. It is a very good film.

Hello Miss Donk, welcome to the forum!
NIGHT ON EARTH is a little hit and miss for me, though the Benigni segment is the stand-out and a real hoot.
If you've not seen TIGER AND THE SNOW, you really must!
