I'm typically slow to upgrade films I have bought several times already and may possibly be burnt out on (like waiting til I came across BU's 2-disc ZOMBIE blu used in a shop, though I pounced once I found it!), but in the case of ESCAPE FROME THE BRONX and COMPANEROS I've waited sooooooo long (never purchased either on DVD, meant to, but never got around to it) that it will actually work in my favor! Only got the Mattei flicks fairly recently (and for dirt cheap at that), so that won't sting too much either. Any hopes of a VIOLENT CITY blu?

Which is full 1080p HD and not interlaced, unlike the Italian Blu-Ray. Still not read any reviews of the German release.

BU announced today they are going Blu with Franco's JUSTINE and EUGENIE  ( the Marie Liljedahl film ).  They are just starting work on new HD transfers so hopefully sometime later this year.

Just got my copies of Escape the Bronx and New Barbarians, noticed they have commentary with Castellari, anybody know if these are the same as the shriek show commentaries? I've got the SS dvd of 1990, why I didn't pick up the new blu

Review here from DVD DRIVE-IN.  Seems the transfers are quite noisy as per a lot of Italian titles.

Great news! Anyway, I really miss some new Giallo stuff on HD: "La tarantola dal ventre nero", "La morte negli occhi del gatto", "Solamente nero" (which hasn't really got a very good treatment on both Blu releases), etc.
