Falling asleep or something else Jonny?  ;D
Blue Underground have really gone to seed in the last few years, it's just constant re-releases of their back catalogue. Severin also seem to have given up the ghost. Are the Italian rights holders asking too for much money and that's putting the likes of BU and Severin off?

Haha! Just falling asleep! Honest.

It could well be the money thing, I know Marc enquired about the rights to The Devil's Wedding Night a while back and was given a silly quote from the Italian rights holder but the guys at Nocturno are putting it out/have put it out in Italy and I doubt they will have paid the fee Marc was quoted. Maybe they want more money for the English speaking territories? Which is putting everyone off?

I fell asleep about 30 mins into Django Kill a few nights ago. Not the films' fault though as I was really enjoying it. I've actually fallen asleep on the couch every night for the past few days and I'm getting worried I'm turning into an old bastard.

How old are you?

44 going on 80...

These triple packs just sound like a decent way to dump old DVD stock that isn't selling as well anymore probably. With the rate they're churning out their catalogue on BD I wouldn't be surprised if their DVD sales have dropped a fair bit. There's a handful of titles that I never picked up and wouldn't dream of buying on DVD now because I'm half expecting them to re-release their whole catalogue eventually. Maybe as a stop gap if they're used and cheap.

Weren't there rumours about them being on the edge a few years ago? It'd be nice to have some new titles but they're hopefully enjoying a new lease of life with BD so maybe more will come eventually if their sales can match the investment needed. At least they can be first with most of what they're re-releasing now. A load of their catalogue on DVD I already had from Anchor Bay or whoever.

Time to find something to fall asleep to again. I'm not going to risk Django Kill tonight as I'm knackered and I don't want to have to watch that first half hour three times...

I think a lot of the companies took a bit of a bath on the deep back catalogue (how many copies of these lesser-known titles sold?) and the big, known tilted are already out. We had more than ten years of great surprises but I think those days are over, even companies like BU are playing things safe with reselling (bundles or Blu-ray) titles that have sold well previously.

Still, companies such as FilmArt and CameraObscura are still uncovering previously unreleased gems, so it ain't all bad.

Do you remember when Blue Underground used to release 'new' titles every so often and not just upgrades?

They said years ago that they were going to be easing off releasing new titles.

Oh well... they're still the most amazing DVD-label ever. All those titles and all in such good quality with always some extras.  ::)

I never bothered picking up the old Snuff DVD but might be tempted by the blu-ray.

I just noticed this new release on their website, supposed to be released 23 April:

Which is a great way to get those movies if you don´t have them yet (which I do, unfortunately).

They've also got The Grand Duel DVD coming out in May as well. I still can't believe that they didn't release High Crime as they released the other Castellari movies.

Yes but that's just a DVD. Mill Creek already released it on blu-ray, it's extremely cheap and it looks good.

I got a cheap Toshiba. Instead of wasting 15 dollars on the BU-DVD, you can put it to one of those perhaps.  ;D

And not forgetting Day Of The Cobra  :D

I don't care that most of their releases are Blu Ray's of what they've previously released on DVD as to me the majority of them are worthy of the upgrade.
