I love Opera. It's probably my favourite Argento after Suspiria.

I dread to think how much they will charge for this if their release of DEMONS and DEMONS 2 is anything to go by. Not that I'll be able to refuse. I love OPERA, aside from the weird ending, of course.

We was wrong about it being OPERA!

It's SUSPIRIA!

“I’ve been involved in the restoration and release of many films in my career, but SUSPIRIA has always eluded me, until now,” says Donald May, Jr., President of Synapse Films. “It’s one of my favorite horror films and I’m ecstatic that my business partner, Jerry Chandler, was able to negotiate with the rights holders to release this film. This is going to be an amazing project for us.”

Synapse Films, Inc. will work closely with Technicolor Rome and Technicolor Los Angeles to create an all-new high-definition 2K scan from the original negative for a possible 2014-15 video release. “It’s important to spend as much time as possible to create the definitive high-definition home video version for the fans,” May explains. “We’re going to take our time with this one.”

There's mutterings that they are considering doing a 4k scan. Based on what Don's been doing with the DEMONS releases, I am sure that he will putting lots of effort in to making this the definitive release of SUSPIRIA.

Yep, I have no doubt that Don will make this as perfect as possible. He knows what people expect and will come good.

Blimey! That was out of the Blue. There's no doubt that Don will do this one proud though.

I'd love to be able to get hold of those Demons discs, but they are only available in the US. :-[

I wanted them till I found out they had Waddell extras, so with that the annoyance of them not shipping out of the states is lessened.

Heard today that Synapse / Impulse Pictures are releasing Sex Hunter as part of their Nikkatsu Roman Porno R1 releases  ::)

I've pre-ordered mine already at Diabolik, can't wait for this one!

After a string of fairly disappointing and lightweight releases, I'm glad Impulse/Synapse are releasing what I would regard as a classic of the genre. Genuinely erotic but at the same time incredibly mean spirited and nasty, I would recommend this film as a good starting point for anyone curious about the Japanese Roman Pornos. Imagine a perverse, twisted Japanese spin on Black Swan and you start to get the idea.

The 2 DEMONS films are being issued in standard Blu-ray cases in November so anyone who couldn't justify the expense of the tin editions can pick them up for a reasonable price now.

Really hope they don't follow the Demons release pattern for Suspiria.

I'll bite for the tin if that's what they do for SUSPIRIA, just couldn't bring myself to pay so much for DEMONS

Seconded. Although I'd rather not pay that much. I bailed on the Arrow Withnail and I disc due to the £50 price tag.

Yeah, I'll probably pay for the tin too, if that's all that comes out on release day. Only problem will be the potential customs' fee. Hopefully, somewhere Customs friendly will stock it.
