apparently, e-m-s are about to file for insolvency. no information yet as to who might takeover their catalogue and licences (Koch being the most obvious candidate, I guess).
what a shame! they've put out so many great editions, the lavishly packaged "Maschera del Demonio" probably being the crown jewel in their catalogue, along with the rest of their Mario Bava series.
Other highlights of their back catalogue were Margheriti's "And God said to Cain", the excellent "Phantastischer Film"-series and the brilliant Polish Peplum-meets-Arthouse extravaganza "Pharao".

Simple answer. E-M-S owns some several companies. The "e-m-s new media AG" is a daughter of "e-m-s sales GmbH" (which is filed for insolvency) and not directly in the same situation. They'll use a new distribution way through "3L Entertainment" which was responsible for the theatrical releases of "e-m-s sales GmbH". There are only a few titles wearing the "E-M-S" mark. All new releases wear "3L" .....

usually with e-m-s, there are no english subs. however, some dvds have english language options, usually if the films were originally made in english.

Interesting news for Spencer-Hill fans:

I gather it says some titles are coming out on blu-ray?

...hopefully with English options

E-m-s & NSM (Austria) are planning to release SUSPIRIA in May 2010 in a slightly cut version (e-m-s / Germany), and in the uncut version on DVD as well as on BD.

The HD CAM SR Master is likely to correspond to the English BD.

They are planning stage the following extras:

- Italian TV report for the shooting of Suspiria with German subtitles - Never before published in Germany (approx. 25 minutes),
- Interview with Dario Argento (German subtitled approximately 24 minutes)
- German movie trailer
- Original Trailer
- Gallery
