Francis Brewster who runs the pre-cert forums and works for FAB Press has a complete set.
I sent Francis a PM on the Pre-Cert forum today asking whether the magazine featured in 'Dorian Gray' was an actual issue or just a mock up, a friend I was speaking to today thought it was real hence me asking Francis to try and answer...
Answer he did, with a few facts about the mag's history thrown in for good measure. Nice chap indeed.
"Hi Jonny, the first issue of Cinema X was published in March 1969 and it ran for 96 issues (8 volumes of 12) until February 1977. There were also some compendium issues (2 or 3 copies bound together) variously titled Cinema Extra, Cinema Xtra, Cinema Xtra-Special and Cinema X Super-X Special!
The original logo was used until Vol. 4 No. 9 when it changed to 'Cinema X'. The colours changed from issue to issue, but the most likely source for the one used for Dorian Gray is Vol. 1 No. 2 which has the yellow background, black X, and red Cinema. They've just mocked one up with a picture of Helmut Berger.
