Italian DVD is out, is it a new release? Just got news of it in an email update from an Italian website...

Think this was only previously available on DVD in Scandinavia and possibly Australia. The sequel—WHY DID YOU PICK ON ME?/ Chissà perché... capitano tutte a me--was also released on disc in Scandinavia.

Isn't this one of Aarron's favourites? I seem to remember he might have the soundtrack on vinyl...

I remember watching the first one on the telly, back in the mid eighties. Would have been 11 or 12!

Watched this one twice (!!!) over the weekend and really liked it.  Completely over the top, and you gotta love Spencer's dubbed, southern (U.S.) accent ("space-sheeup, space sheeup").  It's nowhere close to some of the better Spencer/Hill films, and there could have been some way more over the top comic moments, but the weirdness of the entire thing makes up for it, along with that infectious theme song by the De Angelis bros.  Can't wait to watch the sequel, that is in my on-deck pile.

Lost count of how many times I watched this and the sequel as a kid ! Got the scandanavian disc last year and put it on with some trepidation expecting to be dissappointed and my childhood memories ruined. Glad to say I enjoyed it as much aged 30 as I did aged 5  ::) Really need to get the sequel now.

The Scandinavian releases of both this and the sequel are in fullscreen, so these new anamorphic widescreen editions are definitely of interest...
