Just saw this:

http://www.digitmovies.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/digitmovies.woa/1/wo/8sDZPs2jjd38OeLzUvq8AM/0.5.1.1

so I thought I'd start a thread for the film.  I'm surprised there isn't one already.  Come on.  Ray Lovelock.  Mimsy Farmer.  Ennio Morricone (the CD soundtrack will feature the end title track missing from the CAM CD).

I love the opening to this one, with people killing themselves in various different ways. It's a real attention grabber and quite funny too. Mimsy Farmer's hallucinations in the morgue are well handled and Morricone gives us one of his weirder avant garde efforts.

I haven't seen this for a few years now, since the ABUS DVD came out infact. Might have tp pencil it in for a re-watch.

Got a nice Japanese poster for this not so long ago...

Great-looking poster Jonny. I really like the film and it's always enjoy seeing Ray and Mimsy in action, but the opening is so strong that the rest of the film really can't live up to it. Love the soundtrack though and I'm really glad that Digitmovies are releasing the complete soundtrack.

Snap, though I remember enjoying it.

Oh doctor, I love this film. I can't get enough of its sleazy vibe. This is one of those films that captures the sticky and sweaty genius of Italian genre films. While not my favorite Mimsy Farmer films (I reserve that for Perfume Of The Lady In Black), Autopsy is still way up there.

LOVE the film, especially the way it moves from horror to giallo towards the end! The japanese poster is AMAZING!

Another one I hadn't seen for a while and watched it again last night. I'm surprised this thread isn't longer because I think it's quite high up there. The beginning is really superb and you're kept guessing as to what's going on throughout without getting too confusing or introducing a bunch of sub-plots. Very eerie score from Morricone too which goes well with some quite surreal imagery at times.

Can't say I'm much of a fan of this one - I much prefer The Etruscan Kills Again.

Watched this two days ago, and I really loved it! I love the suicide intro, which has a bit of a surrealistic / arthouse feeling to it. In the morgue we get some good gore from all the dead bodies. And the film developes as a solid giallo with the usual red herrings trown in there. Really love the way it was shot, loved the soundtrack which was again amazingly done by Ennio Morricone! Also some really good locations!

Also thought that the artist with here shock art of misformed and dead people was a interesting toutch.

Really enjoyed it!

I'm also one who hasn't seen this since picking up the ABUS DVD some 11 years ago. Think it's time for a re-watch. The cover made it look like a gory horror film though, which it isn't (discounting the opening sequence).

And speaking of Ray Lovelock (which we weren't, but he's in the film) I sat down to watch The Cassandra Crossing last night, which I haven't seen in over two decades, and spotted Ray in a fairly large role. I'd completely forgotten he was in this.
