Help: German Translation...

I have a very short paragraph of German text I need translating into English for an article I'm writing. It really isn't long and would take a fluent German speaker all of a minute to do. Can anyone please help?

Or if you're in a hurry, run it through Google's translation engine - I find it to be very good.
