There are some mysteries in the world of Eurocult that for whatever reason never seem to let go of me. Even after all these years I once in a while looked for information on the elusive actor Mark Gregory (Marco di Gregorio) who played the title character Trash in the BRONX movies. Also here on LLL, in the Golden Years of the forum, we had discussions on him as I remember. While cult favourite Peter Bark has reappeared since, there were alleged sightings of Marco in Rome and lots of theories about what happened after he had left cinema behind him. Enzo didn't know, nor did other companions from his years in the movie business. The Bronx Warriors website owner even did a short youtube series "Hunt for Trash", trying his best to find him, but without success.

It is not the most recent news, but I just learned today that Marco de Gregorio, as his actual name was, already died tragically back in 2013. The guys from the cinemaitalianodatabase website confirm this in their March '22 article and even located his grave:

I was saddened to learn that life didn't go that great for the gentle giant in his later years. Did he ever know how passionate many of us fans were about his films and his performance in them, even if he himself didn't seem to care much about his career in the movies? I just hope that at one point, maybe through a chance encounter or just by browsing the internet, Marco realised that he was remembered and not forgotten at all and that his films were still being watched all over the world. Rest in peace, Bronx Warrior!

Sad news. 

Some of the people who featured in the films we love to watch, especially lesser known "character actors" and "bit players", remain unaware that decades later, there are still people enjoying their work.

That's why it's a bit sad this place isn't as active as it once was.
There's currently not a lot of places to discuss Euro cult cinema, despite being easier than ever to watch a lot of these films (I mean, you have places discussing certain Blu-Ray releases, but they are more interested in discussing the packaging or slipcovers, and not really the actual work), and social media isn't really a good place to store and find information, nor to share media and info on films, cast and crew.

I couldn't agree more with anything you say here. And I really appreciate that you tried for quite some time to get things going in this forum again after the "reboot". But community building is a very tough job and I think a lot of things must fall into place for it to work. I am grateful that this place is at least still up and available as an archive and a great web resource for information on Eurocult films. Whenever I stop by I notice dozens of guests browsing the forum and I suppose they can't be all bots or crawlers.

So many other forums have died since social media more or less monopolised the internet. 1-2 years ago the dirtypictures forum (kind of the German equivalent to LLL) had to start all over again after losing the whole content of more than 10 years. Incredibly, it's the 2nd time it happened to them. Not sure if this is the death knell for them sooner or later, now that their user base has been decimated and forums in general seem to have less and less appeal.

Yeah, I keep posting stuff whenever I have some time, because I know some people end up here through search engines (when searching for certain films and directors, it's curious how frequently these forums still pop-up as one of the first, if not the first, result), while in other cases I post about new BD releases, so that former members may (hopefully) receive a reply notification, and become aware certain hard to find titles are now available on BD.
