Great, great, great movie!  ;)

I've got Facets' NTSC faded full-frame print with burnt in subs.  Not sure about the correct aspect ratio,  neither Second run nor Amazon.co.uk have specs listed yet, but even if 1.33:1 is right, optional subtitles and a cleaned up transfer are important.

BTW, the novel is also excellent.  ::)

Ditto, the soundtrack!  :-X

It could be a port of the Czech DVD, in that case it's 1.34:1 (probably the OAR), progressive transfer and no burnt-in subtitles... here are some screens which I found online:

More info and a comparison with other releases:

Groovy!  :-X

Thanks for the comparison, Magnus.  :P

The grabs you posted look much nicer than my Facets disc, which I believe is the middle set in the your comparison link.

The Second Run disc is a new digital transfer with restored picture and sound.

excellent news.. I have the old dvd from Redemption (yikes!), and I'll definitley replace it with this version.

Films like these are right up my alley.. was tempted to start threads on slighty similar-ish dreamlike-fairytale-arty-horror such as The Girl Slaves of Morgana Le Fay or Le Frisson Des Vampires.
