Do you know what's different about this version?

SCREAMERS has a new opening scene with Cameron Mitchell ( who's not in the original film ) and some re shot gore in a couple spots.  Also runs about 80 min , so they cut some scenes out / down.  I actually like the shorter, extra exploitation version better than the original :)

Cameron Mitchell and Mel Ferrer and some cool make-up effects by Cris Walas.  There was also a trailer that showed the advertised man turned inside out that wasn't in the film.  People complained so it was spliced into the prints but not the internegative which was why it wasn't on the cassette release.

Here's the trailer:
Screamers (1981)

Here's the alternate opening in two parts (the gore is in part 2):
Island of the Fishmen - Alternate opening scene (1 of 2)
Island of the Fishmen - Alternate opening scene (2 of 2)

I actually would have preferred that New World had made an entire low budget film around this with more gore.
