I did a search here at LLL and couldn't find a thread for this Corbucci film, starring Franco Nero and Jack Palance.  It will be showing on Turner Classic Movies tonight at 11:00 PM PST USA.  I don't believe I've ever seen it before, but I'll definitely be watching it tonight.  :-X

It's a great film, Michael. Very similar to Corbucci's COMPANEROS which he made a couple of years later. There's a letterboxed Japanese DVD that is sadly out of print now. Beware of all US releases under the PROFESSIONAL GUN label. They're all horribly panned and scanned transfers.

BBC2 broadcast it under this title back in the early 90's,think it might also have been shown as part of a Spaghetti Western season they were involved with hosted by Alex Cox.Anyone remember this?

I know that Tanzi taped this when it was on back then, Stephen. I think Cox showed a then longer version of DJANGO KILL too.

TCM previously ran it several years ago during their spaghetti western marathon, a nice-looking letterboxed print. Looks like this time will also be letterboxed, unlike the HATE FOR HATE fiasco. I really like this one too, more than COMPANEROS actually. One of my favorite Morricone sw scores.

Good memory mate, i did tape it at the time, if i remember rightly it was 1.85:1 ish, it's a scope film but better that than f/s.

DJANGO KILL was a cut version but Alex Cox had a 10-15 minute thing after the film was shown and showed the digging out the bullets scenes etc. there.

By the way Michael, are you recording any of the other Palance offerings today? There`s some good and sometimes rare stuff like TEN SECONDS TO HELL, THE MAN INSIDE, THE BIG KNIFE, MONTE WALSH (shown a couple weeks ago but it froze and pixilated a lot on my cable), and ONCE A THIEF. My recorder is gonna be smoking...

Andrew, my DVR was already 98% full, so I deleted a couple of films like Hitchcock's REBECCA - which shows all the time - and am going to record THE MAN INSIDE, SECOND CHANCE and IL MERCENARIO.  I've already got THE BIG KNIFE on DVD and have taped the others, except for MONTE WALSH, off of TCM in the past.

Great schedule on TCM today!  ::)

I taped this off sbs Australia a few years ago widescreen in italian with english subtitles but the english track is so good I prefer watching the full screen professional gun release. The movie is amazing but I don't need to tell you.

Yeah the dvd is horrible, but I prefer the english track for this particular movie, even though I usually prefer italian over english. the widescreen looks stunning probably Corbuccis best looking film, can't wait for the mgm release.
