I guess the US disc that just came out is the way to see it. Just keep in mind it is a very poor disc that was "authored" using a pioneer table recorder instead of a proper authoring software. the picture quality is not bad at all (it is a digital video feature anyway) although that is not enough to warrant a purchase of $25.... I will buy it as soon as I manage to find it for cheap- or free LOL

I wish the movie itself was better- I have only viewed it via the Italian DVD and it had some entertaining moments but the rest was pretty bad. Look out for the stolen footage from ARMY OF DARKNESS!  :-* If you want to see a great post-2000 movie by Mattei, look no further than LAND OF DEATH aka CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST: CANNIBAL VS. COMMANDO- CH and PREDATOR (or perhaps ROBOWAR?) combined in one!

Mattei always did better in action (STRIKE COMMANDO, ROBOWAR) and exploitation (WOMEN'S CAMP 119, BLADE VIOLENT)- horror never seemed to be his kind. I recommend these 4 films highly. Go out of your way to track them down and enjoy them with your mates and tons of beer :-\

STRIKE COMMANDO is the one with Reb Brown right? I don't remember much about it but I do remember how incredibly awful ROBOWAR was. It's fine as a good-bad movie especially the brazen swipes from PREDATOR. When I first saw the trailer I thought it was a comedy.

SNUFF TRAP is a real sleazefest! Totally shameless 8MM rip-off with almost almost every line lifted from the American film! Features lots of nudity and very brutal violence against women (punches in the face, headshots, all kinds of sadism) and hilarious dubbing as always. If it was shot on film, we would be talking about an all-time exploitation classic!

Awful in a "good" way. If I had told someone that ROBOWAR was a good movie they would think I was insane immediately after watching it. Mattei will never be considered a good filmmaker and he himself would agree. I like his movies because of there awfulness. When I see his name on the box I know what I'm getting. That's why I was shocked at how well done WOMEN'S CAMP 119 was. It's definitely the most polished movie I've seen of his. I was tempted to buy the two cannibal movies he did but there was no dub or subs. Did one ever become available? Never heard of the newer zombie pictures he did either.

I put a screen cap of the "main menu" up at Mobius a while ago.  It is pretty pathetic.

I recently saw the dire Mattei cannibal movie LAND OF DEATH which is on DVD in the US from Substance (a very dubious company) and is likely sourced from the Russian DVD (also saw MUMMY THEME PARK at the same time but that's not Mattei).

I think Ted Russoff supervised the dubbing and dubbed characters in both THE TOMB and LAND OF DEATH.
