Classic gothic horror masterpiece set in 1920's England with Joachim Fuchsberger,Dominique Boschero and Luciano Piggozi (Alan Collins) at his creepy best, the English version of this appears to be very rare so we can only hope someone decides to take a chance and give it a SE dvd release.
There's a nice looking lbx vhs from Italian label Shendene.Anyone seen any other releases?

Nice one, Stephen!
This is definitely one of my favourite italian horror flicks ever! I didn´t know an english-dubbed version existed!  I was only aware of the German vhs release other than the Shendene tape!
Great atmospheric little film and criminally underated imo.
I consider it a classic example of why the italians were unsurpassed in the 60/70s when it came to delivering a great story on a low budget!  ;)

Totally agree mate,he really was superb when it came to these period set films like SEVEN DEATHS IN THE CATS EYE which i think is quite similar in style to this.
I'll have to try and track down a copy of that German tape for a comparison, cheers Rog.

Like ANGEL FOR SATAN, THE UNNATURALS seems to have only had English language theatrical play in the UK before disappearing.  The English language version is not very rare, its simply unavailable until someone with deep pockets wants to deal with Movietime (as Medusa has apparently done with regard to HORRIBLE DR HICHCOCK).  The Italian cassette has English language credits.

Video Search of Miami used to sell an Italian dub and a Spanish dub but its no longer listed on their site.

The Italian cassette has English language credits.
The Italian language trailer also uses THE UNNATURALS title.

I agree, superb little film and dying for a decent DVD release. Great set of photobusta too.
I wonder whether the German print is cut? (Even though IMDB running times can be unreliable) IMDB lists 83 mins for it, whereas my Italian print runs for 87.

Since it's a German co-production, the German version may represent a different edit rather than being censored.

That's definitely possible. Does anyone have the German print for comparison?

Afraid not.

I have the Shendene tape and from the looks of it, this might just be Margheriti's finest... if only I could understand what was going on in it! This badly needs an English-friendly DVD release.

I used to have the German version but binned it when the Shendene tape became available. It was definitely a lot shorter.

It appears that German label Red River Digital aka X Rated will be releasing this sometime in May.
No idea about English options though.

Ooooh... nice! This is such a rarity. If this is a good-quality release I'll pick it up even if it turns out to be in German only.

Seems there will be a (limited?) big hardbox,a (unlimited?) small hardbox and an Amaray version (with reversible cover without FSK rating)...  ::)

No details on subs etc yet...

Here's some pics of the materials used (they're still working on the transfer I think)
