Camera Obscura, Cinekult, filmArt, RARO, Koch, Wild East... Solid companies that have released some great Eurocult films, often for the first time on DVD (and now even Blu Ray)
Why is it we don't hear them moaning about poor sales or torrent sites? Why is it most of those companies can afford to license the English audio track for their releases? Yet, all we hear on this forum is fury and anger at 'expensive' licensors and torrent sites stealing potential sales. Yet, these companies keep announcing new releases...
Truth is, it's been a great 2012 for Italian cinema, and 2013 is also looking promising with 'Top Sensation' still to be released.
The vast, vast, majority of real cult movie fans have stacks of legitimately bought DVD's. Give them something 'new' and they'll buy it, it doesn't matter if it's been bootlegged to oblivion or not (How many copies of 'Night of the Devils' have you been through?)
Repackage something that's already been released and most people probably won't buy it - or certainly not in large numbers.
There isn't much to be upset about, or debate either, to be honest.
