Did you cultivate your passion for music in the same time?Yes, after the commercials and several extra parts I got my first role with some cues in the western
Se Sei Vivo Spara. There I met Tomas Milian who asked me for singing in his band, to which the release of a 45rpm has been offered. I paid a visit to them while playing...and a singer was missing!
Rita, his wife, first asked me for that. I had a strong friendship with her and Tomas.
So we went to Piper club, where we presented that record in front of showbiz people.
There an agent asked me for some pictures, and I got my first role in
Banditi a Milano by Carlo Lizzani. I had taken the showbiz thing just for fun.
Which was the repertory by the band? The band went on for a very short time. A tour to Campania and a bit more. Except the songs of Tomas' record we rehearsed something from Rolling Stones' repertory. I wrote some songs, even to practise English language. When
Il delitto del Diavolo by Cervi was shot, I asked maestro Lavagnino, who had to write the soundtrack, for listening to them and he liked the song
Love You Underground, he thought the song fit very well in the movie...so we included it in the soundtrack. There were my songs in
Pronto Ad Uccidere and
Uomini Si Nasce too.
Please bear in mind that I learned music as autodidact, I did that as a passion.
